Lusca Vineyard
David Llewellyn is a pioneer in Irish wine, successfully cultivating grapes on a gentle slope in Lusk, north county Dublin since 1999. The development of this small vineyard has been a labour of love, producing a superb range of red and sparkling wine varieties over the years; David is constantly innovating and refining the craft of winemaking in Ireland’s challenging climate.
This year long photostory followed Lusca Vineyard’s annual growing cycle, capturing dormant vines and a sleeping vineyard, through to harvest, pressing and bottling. Observing David and his small team work the land over multiple visits was a true learning experience, and documenting that journey from vine to bottle is what my photostory series is all about.
